About the project

The County's program for preservation and protection of Significant Natural Resources (SNRs) has been in place since the 1980s. Over time, some community members have questioned how the County is implementing the regulations and how sensitive natural resources are being protected. To address concerns raised both by the residential and development community, the Board of Commissioners directed staff to prepare this in-depth review and assessment of the County's Goal 5 program, particularly for the urban area.

The assessment is intended as a starting point for discussion.

Please find the SNR Assessment here and the technical appendices here.
